AFAASI 4th National Conference

Dear Colleagues,

as I address as the Vice President of AFAASI, and Organising Chairman of Facethetics, I have no one else to thank but my friend, mentor and colleague Dr. Ravi Hebballi, the Secretary of the organisation. Thank you for your trust in me Ravi!

Powered by the success of 2015 conference at Nehru Centre in Mumbai, we are happy to announce our next annual conference Facethetics 2016 from 10th to 12th June 2016 in Mumbai again at the same venue Nehru Centre. Facethetics in Mumbai was a pilot project for us and we were sceptical about its success. But we were overwhelmed by the increased turnover in terms of numbers as well as the keen interest shown by the delegates post conference. I personally regret that many of my colleagues and friends could not attend the congress this year as they were not aware about the event. Hence we decided to make the announcement early this year so that you can block the dates 10-12 June 2016.

Facethetics 2015 was attended by around 400 delegates and was successful in creating awareness about the interdisciplinary approach to the aesthetic practice. The entire scientific discussions centred on offering the complete medical solutions, both non-surgical & surgical to manage a demanding aesthetic patient. The experts were all out of the box thinkers and the discussions and lectures were to the point and very practical.

Aesthetic practice today demands a lot from character, intellect, practical ability, business sense as well as aesthetic outlook, Hence it is no more a domain of one speciality. From the moment I took office as the Vice President, the central challenge we’ve confronted is to get experts from all specialities dealing with face aesthetics under one roof.

I have always believed that such amalgamation of specialities is a happy marriage. There is so much to learn from each other and apply to our day to day practice. We can also pool in data and publish papers and come out with research data. This will put our country as well as ourselves on the global scale. I want the young post graduates and practitioners to join our organisation which will help you choose and setup your practice arena. Those practicing in smaller cities and rural areas, you can always have something as simple as chemical peels and mesotherapy to start with. For those surgeons who want to make in career in cosmetic surgeries and hair transplants, there are experts to guide and train you in this house.

This year the congress theme is “Conference with a difference”. Hence the focus of the conference is to exchange knowledge and learning that will make a difference in the way you practice your aesthetic medicine. After the said date, you will never practice the same way again. I promise!! Workshops have been planned to be on a separate day (12th June) to ensure total focus, learning and with hands on. However there are limited registrations for the workshops and hence early registration is advised. No spot registrations for workshops would be possible.

So friends I welcome you all again to Aamchi Mumbai, city of vada paav, bollywood and potholes !!
